This privacy information notice explains how the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) use any personal information we collect about you when requesting a service for ship owners, partner organisations and members of the public in relation to The UK Shipping Concierge.
1. What information do we collect about you?
The following personal information will be collected and processed by the MCA:

- your organisation
- your email address
The information we process is provided to us by you directly. We use this information to send you our monthly email newsletter, ad-hoc email updates, respond to your enquiry, briefings and event invitations.
Capturing this data supports the MCA’s commitment to the Maritime 2050 initiative to grow the UK Flag and to bring you relevant news and updates related to maritime and shipping, which may include regulation and compliance.
2. How we use the information about you?
The personal information collected will be directly related to the service that you are requesting. The information will be used to validate the request and ensure the relevant department of the UK Shipping Concierge action said request.

3. Retaining your information
We will keep your personal information for as long as we have a purpose to contact you about the work that we are undertaking, and we will review this annually. If your enquiry is not for a legitimate purpose your information will be deleted after 30 days.
You can contact us to ask for your personal information to be updated or permanently deleted, at any time by emailing contact@ukshippingconcierge.gov.uk.
4. Sharing your information
We will not share your personal information with third parties unless required or permitted to do so by law.
5. Storing your information
We will securely store your personal information in the UK. We do not routinely transfer data overseas but when this is necessary, we will ensure that we have the appropriate safeguards in place.
6. Automated decision making
We will not use automated decision making or profiling in using your data.
7. Your rights
The UK GDPR sets out a number of rights which individuals have over their personal data, allowing you to request copies of your personal data and, in certain circumstances, to object to it being used for a certain purpose, or to have it deleted or modified.
